One night a friend and I actually followed the trail of steel tip darts demise. We went from pub to pub to pub in Central California, each one telling us that in the immediate past – for a variety of reasons – their steel tip boards had left their walls; replaced by soft tip machines that got filled up with quarters or pool tables or big screen TVs or on and on and on. At one point it almost seemed that someone was only minutes ahead of us taking steel tip boards down. Well, the planet may be dying, the economy going straight to Hell but steel point darts die out…never!
